It's official.....Winter has arrived in Michigan, even though the calender says we still have a few weeks. We received our 1st snowfall of the season on Sunday & if we don't get anymore for the rest of the year, I'd be happy, lol. But alas, we got more again tonight. I know, this is Michigan, which means this is just the beginning of the white stuff to come! The good thing about the snow yesterday was I stayed inside all day & got some more layouts done:
When I saw this paper at Scrappy Chic last week, I just had to get it. I usually don't like working with 'themed' type papers like these as I always struggle to use them, but I knew I had pictures to go with these papers, so I thought I'd give them a try. And I'm pretty happy with the way these layouts turned out. In the layout above, I cut around some of the swirls in the paper & used them to overlap the photo, added some gold rick-rack as a border, some gold & purple Prima Flowers & used a Tim Holtz Grungeboard bookplate in which I stickled.
On this one, I used more Tim Holtz Grungeboard which I covered with mulberry paper, added some ribbon & rick-rack, Primas, an old Basic Grey bookplate & American Crafts Velvet Thickers for the title.
Tonight at the gym, I accomplished another first :) I got the incline on the treadmill up to 20! It about killed me, just trying to hang on, but I felt so good afterwards! And I burned 652 calories in 45 minutes! WOOHOO! Now I'm pooped, but also energized at the same time, not to mention stinky & sweating, so I need to go take a shower before bed.
Have a wonderful week,
Benita

Beautiful layouts!!
OH, I WISH we would have snow here but we never get it. Atleast you got to stay in and get some things done.
Good job on the workout!!
Hey Benita, I finally checked out Scrappy Chic on Saturday. What a great store. The employees were so friendly. They have lots of beautiful things too. Plus it was CSI day and I made 2 make and takes. It's also amazing that the scrap stores in the area all have different things which makes it even more fun.
As usual, beautiful layouts.
This time of year, I really miss snow. It's so pretty. I just realized that I don't have any pictures of Mark in the snow!
It flurried here just a bit ago which caught me by surprise. But doesn't compare to your snow. :) Beautiful pages! And way to go with your treadmill workout. That's awesome! I need to get my butt back in the gym now that I'm finally feeling better.
We have snow too and we are getting more tonight!
P.S. I've left you something on my blog!

those pics are perfect for that paper!!! and congrats on winning the contest over at scrappy chic...I think I am most shocked of how many calories you burned on the treadmill....holy smokes!!! I am scared of you....
20 on the treadmill - you are ready to climb any mountain!!! And snow - yippee!!! It must have been the storm that went through Chicago on Sunday night! Fortunately they didn't get much and it was gone by the time I flew out of there! Love your LO's! Will you do mine from London!!! lol
First off, LUCKY YOU. I'd love to have a bit of snow round here.
Secondly....the lo's are wonderful!!
I know you get so sick of the snow, so when you've finally had enough, you are more than welcome to come "home" to Va, and spend some time playing in my scraproom!!!
The LO's are beautiful! I find it hard to work with themed paper, too, but you did a fabulous job.
Awesome treadmill work, too! Having done that incline thing, I can truly appreciate how hard that must have been. Next time I go, I'll try 20 and see how it feels! That will last about 3 seconds, I'm sure!!
Hey, I tagged you on my blog with a fun little exercise! :-)
We had snow on Friday and I'm really not ready for winter yet. Beautiful layouts!
OMG Benita...those layouts are just beautiful! Great work as always! :)
These are soooooo beautiful, I love that you used Christine Adolph's papers by CI for the photos...you used them perfectly!
Thanks for sharing your work, you should post them to the CI Gallery too! =)
Jen
I love both of your beautiful layouts using Christine Adolph's new line! Your work is beautiful.
I would love to use these on the Creative Imaginations blog if you would be willing?
:)
