One AWESOME Night!!!

Last night, Jim & I went to see Godsmack along with Breaking Benjamin in Grand Rapids & what an AWESOME concert it was! This time, we got to meet Godsmack & they are just the coolest people.....so friendly, funny & cute :) And this time, I was able to get some pretty good pictures :)
Meeting the BEST band in the world! Godsmack, baby!!!
Breaking Benjamin Backdrop. I knew some of Breaking Benjamin's songs, but hearing them in concert was wonderful! They're another really good band.
Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin - Lead Singer. Ben Burnley again.....love this picture!
Sully of Godsmack.
Tony - Lead Guitar.
Sully again :)
Sully - Up Close & Personal :)
Tony again.
Sully beating away on the Bongos while he was dueling with the drummer.

During the concert, Sully touched my hand twice & I swear, I felt like a kid again! I told Jim that I didn't want to ever wash my hand :) I'm hoping to have a picture soon of us with the band that was taken by the lady from ILuvAllAccess.com where we purchased our tickets from. Once I receive it, you can bet I'll be posting it here as I had my arm around Sully :) Sully told Jim that he had to go to the other side of the group for the picture & then said "You're with your woman enough!" Hehehe :)

The worst part of the concert was getting pushed & squished & hit all night. We were in the front row on the floor which was all standing, so we had people coming over our heads all night long. Then I got hit in the head with a drumstick from the first group, Hour Cast, but at least I got to keep the drumstick :) I also got 3 guitar picks, one from each group which I plan on scrapbooking :)

The drive home was very exhausting.....2 1/2 hours & I just kept praying that we would make it home safely. The scariest part was the deer that came out in front of us, but thank goodness, we didn't hit it!

Tomorrow morning, I have to leave bright & early to drive back up to Traverse City to pick Cassie up as she there for the weekend & for Halloween to spend it with her best friend. So I'll be going to bed early tonight as it's going to be a very long day tomorrow.

Happy Halloween!

7 Years of Bad Luck?

My dh informed me Sunday morning that he broke my little hand-held mirror when he went to get his comb. He said that he just gave us 7 more years of bad luck. Well, with the luck we've been having lately, I don't think it can get any worse! Can it? I'm not really much of a superstitious person.....if a black cat crosses in front of me, I don't just stop in my tracks (reminds me of a recent My Name Is Earl episode). But like I said, our luck hasn't been very good lately. The problems we had with the car, problems at Jim's job (he may end up having to go on 2nd shift soon), problems with my sisters, problems with my son, etc......I'm just beginning to think that that my life isn't ever going to just run smoothly.

I am so not ready for winter to get here! After having that little bit of snow the other week & seeing a LOT of roadkill lately, I have this funny feeling that we're in for a very long, cold winter this year :( Almost every day this month, it's been either cloudy or rainy & I miss the sun! I need the sun! The only good thing to come out of this yucky weather is that I'm actually scrapbooking.....a lot! :) Afterall, what else is there to do when the weather's like this??? Here are just a couple of the layouts I've done in the past week & a half:
This was above was pretty simple.....it just kind of all came together for me, which doesn't happen very often. Supplies: Bazzill, CI PP, MME Bohemia PP, quote, title & transparency, Primas, brads, Fancy Pants flourishes chipboard, Heidi Swapp chipboard & ghost hearts, Making Memories paints.
In this next one, I used up some of my old stash.....Basic Grey Fusion PP, monograms & chipboard alphabets, Primas, Heidi Swapp flowers, Making Memories quote stickers & chipboard alphabet & rhinestones.
I love the way this one above turned out! I traced out the flower using a piece of MOD paper that I had & then used MOD paper, Bazzill, Heidi Swapp chipboard alphabet, Technique Tuesday Arrow, Prima flowers, ribbon, rick-rack & rhinestones. It's hard to tell, but I doodled dots all around the flower just using 2 Galaxy Markers.
This one was another pretty simple one. These are pictures throughout the years of Cassie hiding from the camera. Bazzill, Cosmo Cricket PP, Bazzill buttons, Making Memories Ledger Paper & Heidi Swapp chipboard alphabet.
Yeah, yeah, so I 'stole' this title, but I thought it was perfect for these pictures of my granddaughter talking on her Dad's cellphone :) Bazzill, Prima PP, flowers & rick-rack, Heidi Swapp Chipboard Alphabets & Journaling Spot, Rhinestones.

I also did a layout of my car, but everytime I try to add it to blogger, it turns it sideways, so if you want to see it, you can view it here: Sports Cars Aren't Just For Boys Anymore!

That's all for now.....gotta bowl tonight.

{S-N-O-W}

Somehow, Michigan went straight from Summer to Winter! It's been snowing on & off all day today & even I have to admit, it's pretty :) The weatherman said it wouldn't stick to the ground, though, but I think he needs to look outside again! Our temps were just in the 70's last weekend & today, I don't think we've hit 35 yet! Brrrrr!!! And of course I just had to take some pictures & here they are. The first one above is of our deck & our doggie's footprints :)
Here is our front yard with snow on the leaves that we haven't had a chance to rake up yet.
Another picture of our front yard.
Backyard & grill.
Doggie Dandruff? :) Reeses usually loves the snow & loves to play in it, but I guess there wasn't enough for him yet.
I just wanted to take a moment & thank you for the prayers for my Mom. She had her surgery today & I just got off the phone with her & she's doing really good :) God does answer prayers!

In other news, I finally got my baby (car) back today :) The body shop did an excellent job on it & you can't even tell that there was a dent in the roof! But of course, now it's all dirty again from the wet roads :( Ah well.....if it warms up this weekend, I'll give it a bath.

And lastly, I just wanted to give a shout out to the awesome Detroit Tigers :) They are in the playoffs & are now 2-0 against the Oakland A's. WOO-HOO! Let's go Tigers! I truly hope they can go all the way as it's been WAY too long since they won the World Series!

Have a great Thursday,

Wacky Week

I just found out that my Mom has to have another surgery on her leg this coming Thursday. It seems that the infection she has in her bone hasn't cleared up & the doctor wants to remove around 2 more inches from her leg. But first, she has to have some more tests done on Tuesday to make sure that the arteries aren't clogged anymore & I guess they're also going to check her other leg to make sure that one's okay. Could you please say a prayer for my Mom that she makes it through this surgery? I may try to go home this week to be there for her, but with Cassie being in school, it may be hard to do.
Here's my most recent layout. Although it took several days to finally finish it, I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I just love those new Fancy Pants Flourishes....so fun to use!

Now about my wacky week. When we picked up my new car (see previous post), we noticed a few 'chips' in the paint. But upon further inspection, there's more than just a few. So I took it to the dealership last Monday & they had a body shop look at it. In order to fix it, the whole car would need to be repainted! Needless to say, that didn't make me very happy at all! Jim talked to a guy he works with that paints cars & he told Jim that more than likely, it's 'fisheye', which means that the paint was somehow contaminated when they applied it to the car at the factory. Soooo.....our salesperson found us another TorRed Daytona down in Ohio. The only thing is, it didn't have the navigation system on it, but they said we could get it installed. Okay, no problem because I really want the nav system now after getting used to it.

Well......they send a driver to go pick up the new car on Thursday. Friday when we go to pick it up, the first thing we did was check it over really good & what do we find??? A dent in the roof! ARGH! By now, I'm completely ticked off having to deal with all these problems, being without my new car for a week already & just the headaches of everything we're going through! I'm starting to think that maybe I'm not supposed to have a Daytona :( But after they said that this dent will be a much easier fix than repainting the whole car, I agreed to go with this one. Now I just have to wait for them to set up a date to get this dent fixed. I know it's 'just a car', but it's always been a dream of mine to own a nice sports car & I just feel like my dream isn't supposed to be a reality.

Since it's a gorgeous fall day out today, I'm going to spend it outside, doing some much-needed yard work before winter shows it's face (which may happen this week as we're supposed to only have temps in the 40's by the end of the week!). Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
