Although it was cloudy & dreary all day today, that didn't stop this gorgeous Cardinal from making his appearance right outside my scraproom window. As soon as I saw him, I grabbed my camera & started snapping pictures. Then I realized I could get even closer if I'd just change my lens.....DUH! But wouldn't you know it.....as soon as I switched out the lens, got the camera in focus, he took off! Zoom! Flew away! Poof! Gone! So I went about my day, did some cleaning around the house & then came back to check my email a few hours later. No sooner than I sat down, there he was again. This time, the zoom lens was on the camera & all ready to go. I got him! I got pictures of this gorgeous, beautiful, vibrant red Cardinal!
You actually need to click on the pictures to see him better since I didn't have the best lighting in the background due to the clouds. But look at what else you see in the pictures.....those are buds on my tree!!! SPRING BUDS!!! I can't wait until this tree blooms.....our landlords said that it's really pretty in the Spring. I have no clue what kind of tree it is, though.....I'm thinking maybe a Kwanzan Cherry, but I'm not sure. It looks different from the one we used to have. But those buds are proof that tomorrow is the first day of Spring. YAY!!!
Today, Jim stopped by Target for me on his way home from work as I needed a few things, so I figured I'd ask him to check & see if they had the Threading Water Border Punch that everyone is talking about on 2 Peas. And look what he brought home to me :) He also got me one that has hearts on it, but I'm not 100% sure if I like that one, though. But this one.....this one is so cool! As you can see, I couldn't wait to try it out. You can make your own scalloped & dotted edges! I can see this is going to get a lot of use on layouts & cards.

Just a short post for now....off to watch some tv & snuggle :)

That punch is awesome. If only you lived next door...
Love the Cardinal pictures! I haven't seen the birdies yet, but I've heard them! Love the punch too. I was just in the scrap aisle at Target and didn't notice it. Maybe I'll have to look again!

Great pictures! We have cardinals that perch in our evergreen trees but I've never been able to catch one with the camera!
That punch looks great. Very useful for many things!
Benita,
What a great husband! The punch looks cool. I am going to call my Target and see if they have it. I am so glad to see the sign of spring:)
Thanks for the border punch tip, Benita. Forgive me for not posting on the corned beef post, it literally makes me gag, the only food I will not wolf down, LOL. But I am glad that you like it. And glad you are getting signs of Spring. If it weren't for my cyber-galpals, I'd hardly ever know what it's like to live elsewhere, but I get to glimpse at life up there thru ya'll. :-)
Good picture of the cardinal. I hope you don't get the weather that Wisconsin got today. I had 70 degrees and flowers blooming. Sure spring.
I'm heading to Target, I HAVE to have that punch!
