Today, Jim went golfing with a friend & on the way home, this is what happened :( He went to a Sunoco station to pick up a newspaper for me & as he was pulling out, a lady hit him right in the side. A truck was turning into the station & Jim saw that the traffic was clear & the lady that was behind the truck, decided to come around it instead of waiting for him to turn & nailed Jim's Jeep. The police officer gave Jim a ticket because he said that he had to issue one to someone, so he picked Jim! ARGH! What kind of crap is that??? But yep, we'll be fighting the ticket in court! Wish us luck cause it looks like we're going to need lots of it right now!
We won't find out until Tuesday whether or not the Jeep can be repaired. If they end up totalling it, I know that whatever they pay won't pay off the Jeep as we still owe too much on it :(
We're going to need lots & lots of prayers right now! Jim will be calling a lawyer tomorrow to see where we go from here. The lady that hit him told the witness that she was running late for work & the speed limit on this road is 40 mph, but from the looks of this damage, I would say she was going a LOT faster than that!
Both of the airbags in the Jeep deployed, which we thought was pretty strange. Why would the passenger side airbag go off if she hit him on the driver's side? Maybe more proof that she was going too fast?
Here is her car. I'm just thankful that no one was hurt in the accident! Jim's new glasses that he just got last week were bent from the airbag going off, but it could have been a LOT worse!
Thank-you God for watching over my husband!
Till I have more news,
Benita

AWESOME Online Friend!
For those of you that don't believe that you can have online friendships, I'm here to tell you you're WRONG! A few months ago, I met Cindy Lee on 2 Peas & we immediately clicked! It was like we were long-lost sisters. Ever since then, we've been emailing each other sharing laughs, tears, vents & just talking. We both joined different Secret Bunny groups on 2 Peas & Cindy Lee was there for me when I needed to vent about not receiving a package from my Secret Bunny. Well, today, a package arrived from The Upper Crust from Cindy Lee with 2 dozen amazing cookies....1 dozen Chocolate Chip & 1 dozen decorated Sugar. Don't they look yummy??? (Click on the image to see them larger.) I had to take this picture of them before I ate any & yes, I AM going to scrapbook the picture (not the cookies, lol). Cindy Lee, I cannot even begin to tell you how much you've made my day! I'm sitting here in tears from your kindness! How can I ever thank-you enough for what you did for me? You are an amazing friend & I cannot wait until the day we can meet in real life! {{{{{Cindy Lee}}}}}
I also received an ebay auction in today's mail that I won a few days ago for some American Crafts Rub-on Alphabets.....4 packages for $17.11 & that included the Priority shipping! Talk about an awesome deal! These retail for around $10-12 each, so I was very excited when I won the auction! I just LOVE American Crafts alphabets, both the stickers & rub-ons.
That's all for now.....I'm off to eat some cookies & enjoy this beautiful day we're having!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Benita

Spring Flowers & Tagged
I just love the smell of my Hyacinths when they're blooming! Here is a photo of just one of them that I planted in front of my garage a few years ago. I definitely need to buy some more! I just wish they lasted longer than they do. That's the only thing I don't like about most bulbs.....I wish they would bloom all summer long.
Jim & I spent Easter doing some much-needed gardening in our flower beds. We completely tore out the flower bed on the side of the garage that had Daylillies planted in it. The previous owners planted them & while they were pretty, the flower bed was starting to get over grown with grass as well. So we just decided to dig it all out & start fresh. I'm not sure what we're going to plant in there yet, but it'll probably be some type of flowering bushes. I wish Gardenias would grow in Michigan.....I love the scent of those! I'd love to have some Crape Myrtle trees as well......it's things like this that I really miss about Virginia!
I was tagged again & this looks like a fun one to do, so here are my answers:
5 things:
in my fridge
1. Gallon of Milk
2. Butter
3. Yummy Strawberry Cheesecake from a friend :)
4. Left-overs from tonight's dinner (spaghetti)
5. Batteries (they really do last longer if you store them in the fridge)
in my closet
1. Jeans
2. Shirts
3. Storage boxes from QVC
4. Hamper
5. Suitcases
in my purse
1. Checkbook
2. Wallets
3. Cell phone
4. Coupons
5. Lip gloss
in my car
1. Owl pendant that belonged to my sister Karen hanging from my rear-view mirror
2. Organizer for when I go grocery shopping so the bags don't go flying all over the place!
3. Change
4. Atlas for when we go on trips
5. CD's
on my TiVo (assuming i had TiVo)
1. Bowling (Jim records it every week)
2. Nascar shows
3. Last episode of Sex & The City
4. Last episode of Friends
5. According To Jim
I tag:
1. Jewls, Melissa & anyone else that wants to be tagged :)
That's all for now.....off to do some scrapping :)

My Very First TooT! & Wedding Pics
First I need to share my excitement because I just can't contain myself anymore :) On Friday, I received an email from Cantata Books saying that they want to publish one of my layouts in an upcoming book! I was so excited that I was literally shaking & crying! This is my first time being published, so as you can imagine, I'm on cloud 9 right now :) I never even got a chance to post the layout in my gallery on 2 Peas, but now I'm glad I didn't because I would have to just remove it anyway. I'll just say that it's a layout I did about my granddaughter. As soon as the book comes out, I will share the layout here, but that will still be a few months down the road, I'm sure.
Now, onto the wedding pics.....this is my sister Donna & her son (my nephew) Christopher. He just got married the first week of March. I was supposed to go to the wedding with Donna in Georgia, but things came up & I couldn't make it :( As you can tell in the picture, he's extremely TALL!
Here he is with his new wife (sorry, but I can't remember her name). I haven't had a chance to meet her yet, but from what Donna has told me, she's a very nice girl. I'm just so happy for Christopher & wish them all the best.
I am definitely loving this Spring weather that we're finally having! It was still a little chilly this weekend, but today it's supposed to be in the 60's & then tomorrow, they say we're going to reach 70! YEEHAW! :) Hopefully that snow we had last week is the last of it until next Winter!
Now onto a blog meme challenge that I just found today. Lisa posts these Manic Monday Meme's every Monday & they sound like a lot of fun. Here are my answers for today's meme:
1. When eating pancakes or waffles, do you put your syrup on top of the pancakes/waffles or on the side and why? Always on top.....I'm not an 'on the side' kind of person :)
2. Do you cut your sandwiches on the diagonal, straight up the middle or not at all? Either way.....doesn't matter to me just as long as they are cut.
3. Do you tuck your top bedsheet in with hospital corners or do you like it on the looser side? Definitely looser.....I need to be able to wrap them around me at night :)
That's it for now.....hope you have a wonderful Manic Monday :)

"For Better Or Worse"
Sophia posted a challenge on 2 Peas to write about our husbands/spouses & here is a layout I did of mine......James, Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo......my DH :) Jim & I met on February 18, 1989 & got married 10 months later on December 24, 1989 (yes, Christmas Eve.....and no, it's not a romantic day to get married on when you have to wait for Santa to arrive every year!) :)
God definitely brought Jim & I together. We met in Virginia Beach, Virginia & on the night we met, it was snowing & if you've ever been to Virginia when it's snowing, you know that everything literally closes down when they get even an inch of snow! :) Well, on this particular night, we ended up with a foot of snow! I was at a bar (yes, a bar) with some girlfriends just relaxing, dancing & drinking (I was actually drinking water at the time). In walked Jim & Brian.....the minute Jim walked by my table & winked at me was the minute I just knew he was the one! Some people may find that hard to believe, but it's true. And here we are, 17+ years later, still madly in love, best friends & partners.
When Jim & I met, we were complete opposites! He liked all sorts of sports, I hated all sports! He was outgoing, friendly & had a wonderful sense of humor. I was shy & laid back. He's confident, I'm insecure. He likes 4 seasons, I like one.....warm! He'll eat anything, I'm very picky! He likes scary movies, I like comedies & love stories. But you know what they say......opposites attract! And we're proof of that! Over the years, we've started sharing some of the same interests.....I now like some sports (Nascar, bowling & Pistons basketball) & he now likes comedies & supports my scrapbooking addiction :)
Don't get me wrong, Jim & I have definitely had our share of 'worse' during the past 17 years. Our marriage is FAR from perfect! But we're completely committed to making it through those bad times because we both know that we were meant to be together because God brought us together. And it's the 'better' times that definitely outweigh the 'worse' ones :) Just like this layout says, I love this man.....FOREVER!
Have a wonderful weekend with your spouse/SO/family :)

If April Showers Bring May Flowers.....
.....what does April snow bring? Slippery, icy roads, that's what! Last night, it started snowing like crazy & I wasn't sure what we would wake up to this morning, but luckily, it was only about an inch or two. On my way to take Cassie to school this morning, I almost got rear-ended by a kid that couldn't get stopped because the roads were icy as they didn't salt them yet.
I just wish someone would tell Mother Nature that this is supposed to be Spring! This is the 3rd April in a row that we've had winter weather like this. 2 years ago, we had a really bad ice storm, then last April, we got hammered with a snow storm on the 23rd & 24th. Here's a layout I did about that storm: Spring Snow Storm. I guess I should be used to it with living in Michigan. But when April gets here, I am just SO ready for Spring & want to get out & plant some flowers. Ah well....maybe by the time May gets here, the weather will cooperate :)
I just saw this challenge on 2 Peas this morning, so I thought I'd go ahead & do it: You find/win/are given/inherit $100,000. Make a list and itemize exactly what you would do with the money.
First, I would get my Mom out of the nursing home & hire a nurse to be able to come in & take care of her. Then I would pay off all my credit card bills. And if there was anything left after that, I would take my daughter to Germany since she really wants to go there.
Speaking of 2 Peas, yesterday I hit what some people consider a 'milestone'.....my 5,000th post. Now I get to make my own title, but still can't decide on one. Would love to hear any & all ideas. Someone recommended "SPeady B" which I do like since I like Nascar......another person said "Rockin' Grandma" since I'm a grandma & like to go to Linkin Park concerts :) Then there was another suggestion to use my blog name, On Eagle's Wings, which I also like since my blog is named after my belated sister & brother-in-law. I was thinking about "UnPUBlished PEA" since I still haven't been published yet :( Anyway, if you have some ideas, I'd love to hear them.....just post them in the comments section of my blog.
On a side note, Jim & I both bowled really good last night......I shot a 612 series with games of 217, 200 & 195 (my 2nd 600 series this year) & Jim bowled a 715 series (can't remember his games right off hand, though). We ended up taking all 7 points & we're still in first place.....yay, team :) 3 weeks to go of this league & then shortly after it's over, I start up my 9-Pin No Tap League......I can't wait!
That's all for now.....have a wonderful Wednesday!

Ready for the Weekend
I am so ready for the weekend! As much as Jim & I enjoyed some alone time while Cassie was gone, I missed her so much & can't wait to pick her up tomorrow afternoon! I know she'll be sad to leave Emma's, but in a few more months, she'll be seeing her again when Emma comes down here to visit for a few weeks. I get to go to Hobby Lobby again tomorrow, too :) They have a lot of scrapbooking supplies on sale this week, so I'm hoping they still have some good stuff left.
I'm doing really good with my 21 Day Challenge & starting to feel a lot happier & a lot better about myself already :) I'm so glad I found this challenge because I just know a new me is right around the corner! Day 4's quote is a wonderful one. I kept this layout pretty simple.....I just used a MOD flower, some rick-rack, ribbon, Making Memories photo corners, my white Sharpie & some blue ink.
I love how this layout for Day 5 turned out! When I saw the quote done in pink, black & white, I just knew I had to use some of my Rhonna Farrer scraps.....I love her stuff! I also used a Heidi Swapp flower, Bazzill Big Brad, Heidi Swapp floral stamps, Making Memories paints & hinges & some brads & ribbons. I'll be adding journaling underneath the quote picture.
That's it for now.....it's been a long day & I'm pooped! I did 3 other layouts today for a contest, so keep your fingers crossed for me :)
Have a wonderful weekend,
Benita
